About
Lead Engineer. Thirteen years building platforms.
Enterprise banking throughout — Java and enterprise systems first, then cloud, then platform engineering, now AI platforms.
I’m a Lead Engineer at Macquarie. Right now I’m building the correlation engine and supervisor interface for a proof-of-concept analytics platform. It brings activity from separate platforms, systems and channels into one trace, and uses domain-specialised LLM agents to tell an innocent one-off from a deliberate act. The supervisor is the human in the loop, accountable for every decision, assisted by the AI system.
Before that I replaced a low-code post-trade platform with an in-house build, set up the micro-frontend shell that hosts that division’s applications before handing it to another team, and designed how third-party AI agents reach internal bank data without anyone losing track of who authorised what — a governed access layer rather than an integration per agent.
Most of my work comes back to the same question in different settings: how does a system stay accountable to the humans responsible for it? Consent made explicit under Open Banking, consistency held at a boundary on a shared portal, custody of data preserved while agents use it, AI that assists a supervisor rather than deciding for them, and decisions remembered after the people who made them move on.
Outside work: photography — landscapes, astro and portraits — driving, cooking, and a standing interest in automating things around the house.
